I'm not very familiar with the US Visual Acuity scale. Can I change it?

Yes, within the EyeQue Insight app you will be able to change the Visual Acuity scale to match what you are familiar with.  To do so, tap on the unit scale button on either the dashboard screen or at the end of the Insight test.

   

Once you tap on the blue button, you will be taken to a selection screen.  Just tap on the empty circle next to the type of scale you want to use.  Once you do, all of the tests will be converted to that scale.  It will not change unless you choose to change it back or to another scale using the same method.
